What EasyUnZip needs to run

EasyUnZip 0.2.0 extracts ZIP and RAR on Windows. If your PC runs Windows 10 and 11 on 64-bit hardware, it runs.

EasyUnZip installs from its Microsoft Store listing; there is no separate installer file. The download page has the button and the install steps.

Operating system

Windows 10 and 11. Windows 10 needs version 2004 (build 19041) or later.

Architecture

64-bit (x64). There is no 32-bit and no ARM build.

Storage

Allow space for the app and the files you extract.

Runtime

Microsoft Edge WebView2. Windows 11 has it already, and Windows 10 has had it through Windows Update since 2021. The Microsoft Store manages EasyUnZip installation and updates.

Network

Needed to install from the Store, start the trial and activate a key. Extraction itself never uses it.

Other software

None. No .NET, no Java, no separate 7-Zip or WinRAR install - the engine ships inside.

What it will not run on

• macOS or Linux. There is no build and none is planned. EasyUnZip is built around Windows behaviour that has no equivalent elsewhere: the File Explorer selection, the extended path form, and the Windows filename rules it repairs around.
• 32-bit Windows, and Windows on ARM - no native build is published for either.
• Windows 10 before version 2004, Windows 8.1, 7 and earlier. The Store package requires a newer Windows build.
• Windows Server. Not tested and not claimed.

Checking what you have

Press WinPause, or open Settings → System → About. "System type" says whether you are on a 64-bit processor, and the Windows specifications block gives your edition and build number.
