EasyUnZip extracts archives on your PC. Nothing about your files goes anywhere.

What never leaves your machine

• The contents of any archive.
• The names of your archives, or of the files inside them.
• Where you extract things to.
• Any password you type. Those are held in memory for the session and are never written to disk.

What licensing sends

To run the free 14-day trial and to activate a key, EasyUnZip contacts our licence server and sends three things:

• A one-way hash derived from your PC's machine identifier. We cannot reverse it, and it is meaningless outside EasyUnZip.
• The app version.
• Your licence key, but only when you activate or when the app re-checks a licence.

We store that hash, when we first saw it, and which licence it belongs to. We do not store your IP address or your name. Licence keys are stored only as a hash, so a copy of our database would hand out no licences.

Payment

Paddle handles the payment as merchant of record. Your payment details go to them and never reach us. Their privacy policy covers what they do with those.

We ask Paddle for your email address once, when your payment completes, so we can send you your licence key. We use it for that message and then keep only a hash of it — enough to check that a request about a lost key comes from the person who bought it, and useless to anyone who steals the file.

Getting in touch

Use the support form to ask what we hold about a licence, or to have it deleted. It reaches a person, and your message and the address you give are used to answer you and nothing else.
